Brussels, 18 December 2024 (MIA) - Western Balkans is an extremely important region for the European Union, it belongs to Europe geographically, so its very important that we advance our relationship, said EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas ahead of the EU-Western Balkans Summit in Brussels on Wednesday.

"Today we signed the Security and Defense Agreement with Albania, and we already have one with North Macedonia, so there is a lot of room for cooperation," said Kallas.

She added that the Summit would focus on several aspects of cooperation, including the Growth Plan, noting that the European Commission would like to see advancement in the enlargement process over the next five years.
