Kacarska says has been receiving threats for several years, was physically attacked

Skopje, 29 May 2024 (MIA) - The President of the Constitutional Court, Dobrila Kacarska, told media Wednesday she finally decided to report the treats she had received since, she said, “they were occurring almost every second or third day”.

“These are the ones I’ve reported, but I’ve been receiving threats for several years now. There almost hasn’t been a week during which I haven’t received a threat. I also had a physical attack. I was physically attacked, but I never reported it previously, I thought these were isolated cases,” Kacarska said in answer to media questions.

Asked about a potential resolution of the cases related to the threats she received, Kacarska said she hasn’t received any information so far.

“Whether the threats continue or not, I can’t say. Until today, no, I haven’t [received any information]. I don’t have any information about the first incident that I reported, while regarding the person who was personally threatening me, he was detained in a police station, whether the procedure has progressed or what will happen in the future, I can’t say,” Kacarska said.

On May 14, Kacarska reported receiving threats after an improvised bed and a kitchen knife were found on in her parking spot in an underground garage.

On May 18, her security intervened following verbal threats by a stranger near Ramstore Mall in Skopje. The person making the threats was detained by the police.
