London, 21 May 2024 (PA Media/dpa/MIA) - Juventus fought back from 3-0 down in the last 15 minutes to snatch a 3-3 draw at top-four rivals Bologna in Paolo Montero’s first game as interim boss.

Montero had stepped up from the under-19s to take charge of the first team for the closing two games of the Serie A season following Massimiliano Allegri’s dismissal in the fallout from his behaviour at the end of the Coppa Italia final.

The Bianconeri, though, made a slow start at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara as Riccardo Calafiori fired Bologna ahead after just two minutes.

Santiago Castro’s header soon doubled the lead and defender Calafiori dinked in Bologna’s third just before the hour.

Federico Chiesa looked to have scored little more than a late consolation with 14 minutes left.

Arkadiusz Milik’s deflected free-kick, though, gave Juve renewed hope and Kenan Yildiz then crashed in a dramatic late equaliser – sparking wild celebrations from Montero as he ran off down the touchline.

Third-placed Bologna remain ahead of fourth-placed Juventus on goal difference with one match remaining, while Atalanta are two points adrift with a game in hand.

Earlier on Monday, Verona won 2-1 at bottom club Salernitana to secure their Serie A status.

Tomas Suslov put the visitors ahead after 22 minutes, with Michael Folorunsho knocking in a second from close range in first-half stoppage-time before Salernitana pulled a late goal back through Giulio Maggiore.

Verona move up to 13th, four points clear of the relegation zone, which eases the pressure ahead of their final home match of the season against champions Inter.
