Justice Ministry and foreign experts to work on overcoming issues in judiciary

Skopje, 24 September 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Justice Igor Filkov met Tuesday with Marzia Palotta, project officer from the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of North Macedonia and task manager within the project "EU Support for the Rule of Law".
According to the Ministry of Justice, this wil encourage citizens' trust through the establishment of a justice system that will be the foundation of a just society.
The project provides necessary expert support to the Ministry in implementing and monitoring the 2024-2028 Judicial Sector Development Strategy, as well as other activities aimed at improving legal solutions.
"Public debates on the Law on the Judicial Council and the Law on Public Prosecution are planned for next month.The work of the Strategy Monitoring Council will also be reactivated. To improve the efficiency of the judicial system and anti-corruption policy, it will be necessary to promote digitization and strengthen cooperation between law enforcement authorities and judicial authorities," reads the press release.
All this, it adds, will help the country build a better legal system, move forward towards EU integration and ensure that the reforms are sustainable in the long-term.
