Justice Minister Marichikj: Institutions fully prepared to conduct census
Skopje, 26 August 2021 (MIA) – Minister of Justice Bojan Marichikj said in an interview with HTV1 on Thursday that North Macedonia and its institutions are fully prepared to conduct the census, set to launch September 1. According to the Minister, there’s no need for citizens to be concerned about the impact of the pandemic on the census process, as the Commission for Infectious Diseases has already drafted health protocols that will be fully implemented by census takers. “The government has experience organizing massive operations amid a pandemic. We carried out the parliamentary election, which didn’t contribute to rising cases. We owe the census to citizens. Our statistical data, the basis for creation of development policies, is 20 years old,” Marichikj underlined. The Minister also discussed during the interview the digitalization of the judiciary, noting that introducing IT will increase the transparency and efficiency of judicial processes and at the long term, boost citizen’s trust in rule of law.
