Skopje, 26 December 2023 (MIA) - With eight votes in favor, the Judicial Council decided on Tuesday to hold a public session over a motion on disciplinary liability of Supreme Court President Besa Ademi. The session is scheduled for Friday.  

According to the Law on the Judicial Council, disciplinary proceedings against judges are of a confidential nature and not public, but judge Ademi has requested that the session be public, i.e. with the media present. 

The motion calling for disciplinary proceedings against the Supreme Court President was put forward after Ademi said in an interview with SDK.mk that the Supreme Court faces political pressure and threats of dismissing Supreme Court judges.
