Skopje, 20 February 2023 (MIA) – With 11 votes in favour and 2 against, the Judicial Council of the Republic of North Macedonia at its 431st session adopted the proposal to the Parliament for a judge of the Constitutional Court from among the judges to nominate the judge from the Skopje Court of Appeal, Elizabeta Dukovska.

Dukovska is nominated to replace the judge Vangelina Markudova, whose mandate has expired. The judge from the Skopje Court of Appeal, Elizabeta Dukovska, was nominated by the member of the Judicial Council, Zoran Gerasimoski.

Dukovska graduated from the Faculty of Law in Skopje on October 19, 1987, she passed the bar exam in Skopje on February 15, 1990. She was first elected as a judge in the Basic Court Skopje I - Skopje on March 19, 2004, where she handled bankruptcy cases.

Since July 2007, she has worked as a bankruptcy judge in the Basic Court Skopje II - Skopje, and on November 19, 2009, she was elected as a judge in the Skopje Court of Appeal, where she handles commercial cases and is the president of the council.

In addition to Dukovska, judge Tatjana Susuleska from the Bitola Court of Appeal and judge Antoaneta Dimovska were also nominated as members of the Constitutional Court.
Judicial Council president Vesna Dameva considers that judge Elizabeta Dukovska is the most appropriate candidate.

The judges of the Constitutional Court are elected for a term of nine years.
