Skopje, 24 November 2023 (MIA) - Court and prosecutorial staff are staging Friday a protest in front of the Parliament, urging lawmakers from all political parties to incorporate their demands for higher wages in next year's budget, which is currently discussed by MPs.

The protest, organized by the Union of workers in administration, judiciary institutions and citizens associations (UPOZ), is set to continue in front of the Ministry of Justice and the Government.

The protest is supported by administrative staff in the Office for Cultural Heritage Protection, the, the Ombudsman Office, Health Insurance Fund, and other trade unions.

Judicial and prosecutorial staff have been on strike for a couple of months, demanding a wage increase by 78 percent, the same as the recent raise for elected and appointed officials.
