JSP Skopje: Twenty people preventing the enterprise's operation, criminal charges to follow
Skopje, October 20, 2022 (MIA) - As of Thursday morning, about twenty people from the Federation of Trade Unions (SSM) and the so-called Independent Trade Union of JSP Skopje are preventing bus drivers from regularly performing their work tasks, contrary to Article 35 of the Law on Public Enterprises, which regulates the manner of strikes, the Public Transport Enterprise (JSP) Skopje said in today's press release. These twenty people, the press release adds, have no Board on strikes, nor have they registered a regular strike.
"Even if they had regularly reported the strike, according to the Law on Public Enterprises, they must ensure the regular functioning of the enterprise while the strike lasts. Because of this, the City of Skopje will comply with the legal measures and will file appropriate criminal charges against the persons who obstruct the regular functioning of the public enterprise and hold Skopje and the people of Skopje hostage," reads the press release.
The enterprise notes that the City of Skopje prepared on Wednesday a decision on transfer of funds which will ensure the payment of the last salary, which is five days overdue due to non-payment of debts to the enterprise by the Ministry of Education and Science and the municipalities."We urge members of the Management Board of JSP Skopje to act in accordance with their legal obligations, otherwise they will be part of the criminal charges for illegally organizing a strike and obstructing the work of the enterprise," the press release reads. dk/nn/
