Japan donates new heating system to school in Staro Nagorichane
Kumanovo, 1 October 2021 (MIA) – The Embassy of Japan has donated a new heating system to “Svetozar Markovikj” elementary school in the municipality of Staro Nagorichane. Japanese Ambassador Hironori Sawada on Friday visited the school, which is a beneficiary of the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP).
The project is worth EUR 52,323 and intended to improve education conditions in the school.
Ambassador Sawada also met with the Mayor of Staro Nagorichane, Zhaklina Jovanovska, and the school principal, Maja Markovikj. Sawada and Jovanovska discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between the Embassy and the Municipality. On behalf of the Japanese people, Sawada extended gratitude to all citizens of Staro Nagorichane for their support and friendship.
Through the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP), Japan has funded renovation and equipment projects for more than 70 schools and preschools, 57 health institutions, and provided 31 vehicles for waste maintenance and management in 49 municipalities.
