Janevska – Rokas: Cooperation with EU essential for implementation of planned changes in education

Skopje, 27 September 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Education and Science Vesna Janevska met Friday with the new Ambassador of the European Union, Michalis Rokas.

According to the Ministry of Education and Science, Janevska thanked Ambassador Rokas for the continued support of the EU in the process to reform the national education system and presented ongoing activities and the plan for higher quality education in all levels.

“The aspiration for full-fledged membership in the European Union continues to be an important social stimulus and a significant factor of cohesion for the Macedonian citizens, who, on the other hand, expect from us, as a Government, to provide modern education. We are persistent in our commitment to implement the changes we presented at the beginning of our mandate. The optimism and conviction are there, while cooperation with the European Union is essential for the fulfillment of the set goal,” Janevska said at the meeting.

Ambassador Rokas noted the EU’s readiness “to continue to be a committed partner of the country in building a modern education system that will educate European citizens”.
