Israel attacks more than 320 military targets in Gaza

Tel Aviv/Gaza, 23 October 2023 (MIA) - The Israeli army said on Monday morning it had attacked more than 320 military targets in the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours.

Among them were tunnels of the Palestinian Islamist Hamas movement, dozens of command centres and surveillance posts, the army said.

Army spokesman Daniel Hagari said: "We continue to attack infrastructure that could pose a threat to ground forces." As part of this, mortar shell launch sites were attacked, he said.

The army continues to prepare for the command to move in, he said. "The enemy is under pressure, not us."

Hamas terrorists were hiding in Gaza, under siege, he said. "We will take action where and when we want," Hagari said. A ground offensive by Israel in Gaza is widely expected.

More than 1,000 militants launched a terrorist attack on Israel on behalf of Hamas on October 7, causing massacres in the border area. Since then, Israel has suffered more than 1,400 casualties.

In response to the massacres, Israel launched airstrikes in the Gaza Strip. According to the Hamas-controlled Ministry of Health in Gaza, more than 4,650 people were killed.
