Karbinci, 3 January 2026 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said Saturday the Government will invest in three water supply systems - Straishte, Pepelishte and Lisiche - over the course of 2026.
The investment worth EUR 80 million will cover 80,000 households, financed by the German KfW bank.
"The project was stuck because the former authorities wanted to appoint an incompetent person, which led to a stoppage of the financing," said Mickoski.
He added that the three systems would be used for water supply and agriculture areas, but other technical uses as well.
"This delay directly affects the citizens because hundreds of thousands of euros were paid in interest. A way must be found to hold these people responsible, who mercilessly spent taxpayers' money due to their frustrations," noted Mickoski.
