Interior Ministry to facilitate issuance of first ID card to young people ahead of elections: Minister

Prilep, 4 April 2024 (MIA) – In order to enable young people who have just turned 18 to vote at the coming presidential and parliamentary elections, as of Saturday the Interior Ministry will make it possible for them to receive their first personal document without the need to schedule beforehand, Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski announced on Thursday.

“There is a public call from the Interior Ministry, and on Saturday, all young people who are to be issued an ID card for the first time, can head to the administrative services of the police stations and get photographed without scheduling beforehand in order to begin the process of issuance of a personal document so they can realize their right to vote at the elections without any issues. There is enough time, the number of young citizens who have turned 18 and lack an identification document isn’t that big. We will solve this in three to four days and we will prioritize them,” Interior Minister Toshkovski said.
