Interior Minister Toshkovski meets Japanese Ambassador Otsuka

Skopje, 24 July 2024 (MIA) – Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski, held a working meeting Wednesday with the Ambassador of Japan, Kazuya Otsuka, during which he thanked Japan for its support to our country, particularly in the field of education, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Minister Toshkovski highlighted the current challenges we are facing, particularly the large fires that have affected our country, and outlined the planned reforms in the crisis management system. In this context, the commitment to signing a memorandum of cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the area of security was highlighted, aiming to achieve the government's strategic priorities for a decisive and impartial fight against organized crime and corruption.
Ambassador Otsuka emphasized the support that Japan provides to our country through the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects. This initiative, offered by the Japanese government, aims to promote development in various sectors within developing countries.
Ambassador Otsuka reiterated Japan's commitment to continuing its support for our country, particularly in meeting the necessary criteria and accelerating the country's Euro-integration process and its path towards EU membership.
