Inflation 8.4 percent in July: statistics

Skopje, 7 August 2023 (MIA) – The State Statistical Office said inflation in July stood at 8.4 percent, while retail prices increased by 4.9 percent.

According to the data published Monday, consumer prices increased by 1 percent in July compared to June, while retail prices grew by 1.6 percent.

An increase in the consumer price index in July 2023 was registered in fresh or chilled fruit by 12.6 percent, bread and cereals by 3.8 percent, cheese and curd by 1.8 percent, fish and seafood, milk by 0.9 percent, sugar, jam, honey, chocolate and confectionery by 0.5 percent, beer by 0.3 percent and meat by 0.2 percent.

The State Statistical Office said a decrease was registered in fresh or chilled vegetables other than potatoes and other tubers by 4.8 percent, oils and fats by 3.6 percent, spirits by 0.9 percent, coffee, tea and cocoa by 0.6 percent, food products n.e.c, wine by 0.2 percent.
