Industrial turnover in May up 58 pct at annual level: statistics
Skopje, 16 July 2021 (MIA) – According to the State Statistical Office data, industrial turnover in May 2021 increased by 58% compared to May 2020. The total turnover by Main Industrial Groupings in May 2021, in comparison with May 2020, was higher in Intermediate goods, except energy by 57.1%, Capital goods by 116.0%, Durable consumer goods by 54.7% and Non-durable consumer goods by 7.4%. Data also shows that industrial turnover in May 2021 compared to April 2021 increased by 1.9%, while in the period January-May compared to the same time last year, it rose by 28.1%. The turnover in industry on domestic market, by Main Industrial Groupings in May 2021, in comparison with May 2020, was higher in Intermediate goods, except energy by 7.6%, Durable consumer goods by 40.5% and Non-durable consumer goods by 9.7%, but lower in Capital goods by 1.4%. Industrial turnover on the domestic market in May 2021 dropped by 4.5% compared to the previous month, while in the period January-May it increased by 3.8% in comparison with the same period in 2020. Industrial turnover on non-domestic markets increased in May 2021 by 77.2% compared to May 2020. The turnover in industry on non-domestic market, by Main Industrial Groupings in May 2021, in comparison with May 2020, was higher in Intermediate goods, except energy by 81.1%, Capital goods by 121.5%, Durable consumer goods by 50.3% and Non-durable consumer goods by 2.4%. Industrial turnover on non-domestic markets in May 2021 compared to April 2021 rose by 3.9% and in the period January-May it increased by 35% in comparison with the same period in 2020.
