Skopje, 12 January 2024 (MIA) - Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski said Friday IDs will be used domestically after the expiry of the deadline for their replacement (February 12), whereas all options regarding the passports are to be considered.

PM Kovachevski said the Ministry of Interior has already issued 1.2 million passports in the country.

"I am aware that everyone wants to criticize, but one has to also thank the people who are working day and night on the procedure of document issuance, so 1.2 million passports is not a small number. I believe this pace will be sustained and we will consider all options regarding the extension of the deadline for the passports, which citizens need to travel abroad," Kovachevski told reporters.
