Skopje, 22 November 2023 (MIA) — The Theater for Children and Youth will stage the play "How Will We Share the Cat?" written and directed by Jane Spasikj and inspired by American children's book writer Judy Blume.

According to the Theater for Children and Youth in a press release, Spasikj's play, much like some of Blume's books, sensitively addresses the topic of a family separation and what the children and parents go through during the process of divorce.

The cast consists of Dragan Dovlev, Ana Levajkovikj Boshkov, Matea Jankovska, Nikola Nakovski, Angela Dimitrova, Nenad Mitevski and Marija Gjorgjijovska.

"Impartially, courageously, but also gently, this play broaches some taboo topics and reveals most of the fears children and parents have, while also raising the common questions, perspectives and dilemmas of every divorce," the release says.

It adds that "How Will We Share the Cat?" also speaks about "the hushed conversations during this difficult process" and it can serve as "a guidebook for close friends and relatives witnessing the divorce." mr/
