High schoolers create art inspired by cyberculture
Skopje, 22 December 2021 (MIA) – Students from eight Skopje high schools created an art mosaic on social inclusion dubbed “Cyberculture”, which aims at putting a spotlight on how cyberculture, i.e. social media, influence young people and the way they think.
The show is exhibited at a national gallery in Skopje, showcasing works, including comics, sculpture, painting and digital art. Each school was commissioned around ten works of art.
It is opened on the occasion of the International Day of Disabled Persons, said Maja Dimitrova, the project’s educator.
“We believe we should analyze more cyberculture, how it is affecting young people, whether social media have an impact regarding inclusivity, because this project on social inclusion covers children with disabilities as well as those enrolled in schools,” she said.
People are all equal in cyberculture, said gallery director Dita Starova Qerimi, adding the show marks the end of the year because “young people are participating, the future leaders of our society.”
The exhibit runs through January 5, 2022.
