Beirut, 8 October 2023 (dpa/MIA) - The Shiite militant organization Hezbollah says it has fired rockets and shells from Lebanon into northern Israel.

"On the way to liberating what remains of our occupied Lebanese land, and in solidarity with the victorious Palestinian resistance and the struggling of the Palestinian people, the brigade of the martyr, (Hezbollah) leader Hajj Imad Mughniyeh in the Islamic Resistance (Hezbollah) this morning, Sunday, October 8, 2023, attacked three sites of the Zionist occupation in the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms area," a statement by the group said.

Three sites in Shebaa Farms, a strip of land on the Lebanese-Syrian border and the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights, were hit directly, according to the statement.

It added that the rockets targeted a radar installation site, the site of Zabdin, and the site of Ruwaisat Al-Alam, with large numbers of artillery shells and guided missiles.
