Health Minister Sali holds meetings with US Deputy Chief of Mission Meyer, Albanian Ambassador Reka
Skopje, 2 February 2022 (MIA) — Minister of Health Bekim Sali met Wednesday with the US Deputy Chief of Mission Eric Meyer and thanked him for the United States' continuous contributions to North Macedonia’s health care system as well as for the generous help and support since the very start of the pandemic, he said in a Facebook post.
The US Government has given over nine million US dollars to North Macedonia to help it in its response to the pandemic, improve the Public Health Institute’s laboratory and renovate health facilities, Minister Sali wrote.
Today's meeting, he added, was aimed at making steps to further improve the country’s health care system.
The health minister also wrote he had met with the Albanian Ambassador to North Macedonia, Fatos Reka, and talked about strengthening regional cooperation in public health care as well as the implementation of international policies toward achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
“We agreed to deepen our cooperation in several segments of health care, exchange experiences, and follow the modern trends in medicine,” Sali wrote. mr/
