Health Insurance Fund strike put on hold

Health Insurance Fund strike put on hold

Skopje, 7 February 2024 (MIA) - The Trade Union of Administration, Judiciary and Citizens' Associations said the strike at the Health Insurance Fund is put on hold.

The Union noted that the decision has been made after Wednesday's session of the Management Board of the Health Insurance Fund.

"Following the Trade Union of Administration, Judiciary and Citizens' Associations demand to the Prime Minister Talat Xhaferi, reason prevailed in the Government and at yesterday's session it made a new decision, cancelling the previous recommendation sent to the Management Board and passing a new recommendation on keeping the wages at the same level. In line with a decision made at today's session of the Management Board of the Health Insurance Fund, the Health Insurance Fund Union, which is a member of the Trade Union of Administration, Judiciary and Citizens' Associations, made a decision to put the strike on hold," the Trade Union of Administration, Judiciary and Citizens' Associations posted on Facebook.

The Union thanked all the organizations from the health sector, as well as the citizens for their understanding.

"The battle has been won, but not the war. We expect the decision to remain the same after May 31, otherwise the strike will restart," reads the post.

Health Insurance Fund directors and Trade Union representatives scheduled a press conference for 2 pm on Wednesday.
