Grkovska-Galloway: London remains strong supporter of Skopje’s key reforms
Skopje, 26 January 2022 (MIA) – Great Britain remains a strong supporter of the key reform processes in North Macedonia, British Ambassador Rachel Galloway said during a meeting Wednesday with Slavica Grkovska, Deputy Prime Minister in charge of good governance policies.
The two sides, she said, will keep working together for the country’s prosperity with an accent on strengthened cooperation in the digitization process, rule of law and professionalization of the institutions, the government said in a press release.
Deputy PM Grkovska during the meeting voiced her determination and commitment to the country’s established strategic good governance goals with a focus on rule of law, digitization and decisive fight against corruption.
“We, the government, have a dynamic start having defined achievable priorities and long-term solutions regarding the country’s strategic interest. We are focused on the fight against corruption with all institutions in the country engaged. The government will provide a legal foundation to implement the process. One of our key priorities is digitization, which is in fact the basis to implement good governance policies,” Grkovska said.
The Deputy PM also stressed the importance of the law on asset confiscation to be adopted.
During the meeting, Ambassador Galloway said Great Britain is prepared to share its experience in targeted areas and to support key reform processes.
“Deputy PM Grkovska and Ambassador Galloway agreed to resume the fruitful cooperation in meeting the government’s good governance goal to provide the country with professional institutions in the service of the citizens,” said the press release.
