Grkovska: National Council for Digital Transformation of Society for a systemic and harmonized approach to process
Skopje, September 13, 2022 (MIA) – At the proposal of the Deputy PM in charge of good governance policies Slavica Grkovska, the Government decided Tuesday to establish a National Council for Digital Transformation of Society. According to the Government press service, the Council will be chaired by the Deputy PM for Good Governance Policies, and the members will include the Ministers for Information Society and Administration, Interior, Finance and Defense, Director of the Agency for Electronic Communications, as well as representatives from Parliament, the business sector, the banking sector and the local self-government. The purpose of establishing the National Council for Digital Transformation of Society is to plan, coordinate and realize the activities needed for the digitization of processes as well as effectively deal with the challenges it brings. The Council, among other things, will plan and propose initiatives and operational plans for the digital transformation of society, participate in the drafting of a draft-plan for the optimization of internal processes, provide draft opinions, advice on redesigning administrative procedures, simplification of electronic services to citizens and business services, establish a framework for standardization of state systems, participate in building capacities for the protection of state systems, etc. The digital transformation of society is one of the strategic priorities of the Government, which recognizes the need for digitization as a prerequisite for rapid economic progress and development, which is also a need for the business sector. Digitization is necessary for swift economic growth and progress of every company, the process implies the use of digital technology to change business models and increase market competitiveness, reads the press release. dk/ik/
