Skopje, 23 January 2023 (MIA) – Deputy PM for good governance policies, Slavica Grkovska, held a working coordination meeting on Monday with the representatives of the institutions responsible for conducting financial investigation and confiscation of property, discussing the need for better mutual coordination to increase efficiency in the area of confiscation of illegally acquired property.  

Participants in the meeting agreed that all institutions in the area of their competence must bear responsibility in case of failure to act or untimely action.  

Interlocutors stressed that work must be done to improve the transparency of the institutions and the judicial system.

“Our common goal is to have strong and transparent institutions by promoting mutual coordination and cooperation, strengthening capacities, professionalism, integrity, and responsibility. Those are the priorities that everyone must work on. Only in this way, with professional and responsible work, will we strengthen citizens’ trust in the judicial system,” Deputy PM Grkovska said.  

In addition, the meeting defined concrete activities to be undertaken, as well as the dynamics of their implementation, to enable better coordination of the institutions.
