Grkovska: Digitization of inspection procedures reduces risk of corruption

Skopje, 16 August 2023 (MIA) – The Deputy Prime Minister in charge of good governance policies, Slavica Grkovska, held a coordination meeting Wednesday with the representatives of all state inspectorates, which was also attended by the President of the Council of Inspection Authorities, Daniela Rendevska.

According to the Government, the meeting focused on the digitization of inspection procedure “E-Inspector”, which significantly removes the subjective factor, while also reducing the risk of corruption.

The meeting identified the lack of harmonization of certain laws, which the inspection authorities act upon, with the Law on Inspection Supervision as the biggest obstacle in the everyday work of the inspectorates.

Deputy PM Grkovska stressed the importance of boosting the transparency of inspection authorities, both in terms of raising the integrity of the inspectors, and as a way to increase their security when carrying out their tasks.

In the context of further improvement of the transparency of the services through the publishing of reports from carried out inspections, a conclusion was adopted at the meeting to consult with the Personal Data Protection Agency in order to define the appropriate format that would enable better transparency, while also not being contrary to the personal data protection regulative.

Additionally, the need for increased coordination between the inspectorates and the Council in order to raise efficiency, as well as the quality of the inspectors’ work, was highlighted at the meeting,
