Grkovska – Cormann: EU accession negotiations ensure swift and quality reforms
Skopje, 18 November 2022 (MIA) - In the framework of the Global Forum 2022 in Luxembourg, Deputy PM in charge of good governance policies, Slavica Grkovska, meeting Thursday with Secretary General of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Matthias Cormann, discussing the possibilities for greater expert cooperation support for the Republic of North Macedonia, especially within the framework of the process of improving the institutional capacities. Grkovska informed Cormann about the priorities of her cabinet, aimed at digital transformation of society, creation of anti-corruption policies, as well as building professional, responsible, accountable and efficient institutions. She assessed it is very important for key reforms, including in the area of public administration, to have a consensus for them to be long-term and sustainable. The Deputy PM expressed her gratitude for the support that OECD and its Support for Improvement in Government and Management (SIGMA) give to our country, which is especially important now, when the country has started the European Union accession negotiations, Grkovska’s office said in a press release. OECD's Cormann welcomed the beginning of the EU accession negotiations and assessed they ensure swift and quality reforms. In this regard, interlocutors agreed it is necessary to advance mutual cooperation in the coming period, especially in terms of expert support for the key reforms that await North Macedonia, reads the press release. dk/ik/
