Greek Minister Varvitsiotis to pay two-day visit to Skopje
Skopje, 13 October 2021 (MIA) – Greece’s Alternate Minister of Foreign Affairs Miltiadis Varvitsiotis on Thursday and Friday is paying a working visit to North Macedonia after being invited by Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Nikola Dimitrov.
In Skopje, Varvitsiotis, who is in charge of European affairs, is due to meet also with Prime Minister Zoran Zaev and Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani, the government said Wednesday.
“The visit is taking place amid strengthened bilateral cooperation between North Macedonia and Greece and following Greece’s expressed support to the country’s EU integration process. In this context, talks will focus on ways for enhancing cooperation and technical assistance from Greece and meeting the joint strategic goal – official opening of accession negotiations with the EU,” said the press release.
Deputy PM Dimitrov and Greek Minister Varvitsiotis will hold bilateral talks on Thursday followed by joint news conference.
