Gevgelija, 17 July 2024 (MIA) - The Interior Ministry has notified citizens that traffic through the Bogorodica border crossing is currently interrupted due to a wildfire that has broken out on the Greek side of the border. Intensive measures are being taken to put out the fire, and the border crossing will be reopened once it is extinguished, the Ministry said on Wednesday.

The police urged citizens not to head to the border crossing until it issues a notice stating the fire has been extinguished and traffic normalized.

According to MIA’s sources in Gevgelija, the fire broke out before 12 pm, and it is burning right next to the border crossing.
