Skopje, 2 September 2024 (MIA) - The Government and 4iG Group, one of the leading ICT companies in Hungary and the Western Balkans, signed Monday a Memorandum of Understanding in Skopje with the aim of accelerating the country’s digital transformation in the economy and infrastructure, the Government said in a press release. 

The Government said the two parties will establish a joint working group tasked with promoting cooperation “with the aim of analyzing market opportunities and accelerating cooperation”.

The Memorandum was signed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Aleksandar Nikoloski and the head of the 4iG Group Gellért Jászai. The Government described the Memorandum as a basis for long-term cooperation.

“It highlights opportunities for the 4iG Group’s entry in Macedonia’s telecommunications market and defines common goals for future cooperation such as: improving customer experience through the introduction of state-of-the-art mobile and broadband technologies ensuring faster and more secure communications and internet services; implementing investments in top technologies based on 5G, IoT and artificial intelligence for the development of the digital ecosystem in Macedonia considering the Government’s commitment to the Clean Network initiative; opening new and high-quality jobs by establishing regional offices and operational centers that will aim to increase economic growth and long-term development; minimizing impact on the environment and supporting green initiatives; stimulating innovations, technological development and entrepreneurship in partnership with local economic entities,” the Government said. 

The Government noted that the 4iG Group is one of the leading telecommunications and IT operators in the Western Balkans, providing services to almost 2.2 million users and 400.000 corporate clients in the region.

“Through its work, the Group continues to expand its services, expertise and portfolio to respond to the changing needs and demands of the telecommunications and IT markets. It employs over 8.000 people,” the Government.
