Skopje, 9 December 2023 (MIA) — The government at its 206th session reviewed and approved of a proposed law on financial aid to socially vulnerable categories of citizens amid the energy crisis and will be forwarding it to Parliament for adoption in a fast-track procedure.

According to an official press release, the relief law was proposed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy. It foresees monthly payments of 1,500 to 3,000 denars to vulnerable social groups over five months, beginning in December 2023.

Eligible for the aid are people on welfare, people on disability, retirees living on low pensions, single parents receiving guaranteed minimum income, and students from low income families or those studying away from home, the release says. mr/
