Gov't approves setting up body to monitor implementation of 2024-2028 Judicial Sector Development Strategy

Skopje, 26 March 2024 (MIA) - The Government at a session on Tuesday made a decision on setting up a council to monitor the implementation of the 2024-2028 Judicial Sector Development Strategy.
According to the Ministry of Justice, the council will be set up for the purpose of ensuring continuity in the practice of monitoring reforms in the judiciary.
The Justice Ministry notes that the Government at a session held on December 26, 2023, adopted the 2024-2028 Judicial Sector Development Strategy, along with an Action Plan.
The Ministry says the council will ensure timely implementation of measures and activities according to the Action Plan, monitoring the priorities, the time frame and deadlines for implementation and evaluating the results achieved in the implementation of the Action Plan.
The council will be chaired by the Minister of Justice, and other members include the Minister of Interior, the Minister of Information Society and Administration, the Minister of Finance, the Deputy PM for European Affairs and the Deputy PM for Good Governance Policies, as well as the Chief Public Prosecutor, the President of the Supreme Court, President of the Judicial Council, the President of the Council of Public Prosecutors of the Republic of North Macedonia, etc.
The Ministry of Justice adds that other ministers, deputy ministers and officials heading public administration bodies, local and international experts, professionals and the presidents of the Association of Judges, prosecutors, judicial service and the public prosecutor's service will also attend the sessions and monitor the work if necessary.
