Skopje, 29 August 2023 (MIA) - The Government at its session on Tuesday adopted a decision on setting up a working group on implementing the "50 villages, 50 stories" project on socio-economic development of villages and rural tourism.

The project's time-frame is four years, starting 2023 until 2026. 

The project is aimed at integrated rural development. It targets villages with potential for agro-tourism, rural tourism, socio-economic development and cultural heritage, the Government said in a press release. 

"The main goal is interest in the development of tourism in the country and attracting Macedonian citizens who have emigrated abroad, to invest in rural tourism in their native villages, thus reducing the emigration of young people and creating green jobs," reads the press release.
