Skopje, 24 January 2023 (MIA) – The Government on Tuesday adopted a report from the Ministry of Interior on the need to develop a plan for setting up national electronic identity for every citizen. The plan has been approved, together with a plan on implementation.  

“The goal is to launch a national electronic identity for the citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia, which, according to the Ministry of Interior, should be a pillar of the digital transformation of society, by enabling a unified approach in using electronic services and data exchange both in the country and in the countries of the Western Balkans and the European Union,” the Government said in a press release.
