Skopje, 11 April 2023 (MIA) – The government at its 146th session on Tuesday reviewed and approved 2023 Operational Plan for Active Employment Programmes and Measures and Labour Market Services initiated by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy.

“As said by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, the Operational Plan expands the scope of programmes and measures for employment and services on the labor market for 2023, which will ensure the creation of new jobs and increase the employability of the unemployed, especially the young, the long-term unemployed and the guaranteed minimum assistance beneficiaries,” government said in a press release.

The 2023 Operational Plan will focus on young unemployed people aged up to 29, long-term unemployed persons and guaranteed minimum assistance beneficiaries.

A novelty in the Plan is that low-qualified persons, with minimum primary education, can be included in the employment measures.

“All registered unemployed persons and employers shall have access to these employment programmes, measures and services. The right to participate shall be determined based on the requirements and criteria defined for each individual employment program, measure or service, and as a general rule, these programmes, measures and services will strive for equal representation of both men and women, in accordance with the Law on Equal Opportunities for Women and Men, including young people of up to 29 years of age with at least 40%,” reads the press release.

The main implementer of the Operational Plan shall be the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, while its implementation shall be under the competence of the Employment Service Agency of the Republic of North Macedonia, in partnership with other responsible institutions.
