Governor: Three dead after attacks on Russian city of Belgorod
Moscow, 3 July 2022 (dpa/MIA) - Explosions in the Russian city of Belgorod near the border with Ukraine have killed three people, according to the governor of the Belgorod region. Vyacheslav Gladkov announced the news on Telegram on Sunday, according to the TASS news agency. Four other people were reportedly injured in the explosions, including a 10-year-old child. Some 50 houses were also damaged. The cause of the explosions was under investigation and the city's air defence system was expected to be activated. The information could not be independently verified. Besides Belgorod, other Russian regions near the country's border with Ukraine, including Kursk and Bryansk, have repeatedly accused the Ukrainian military of shelling civilian targets since the Kremlin's invasion of Ukraine began four months ago. Kiev does not usually comment on such accusations.
