Skopje, 16 November 2022 (MIA) - Under the slogan "We save together today to have tomorrow", the Government will motivate citizens to save electricity starting Wednesday through informative and educational activities. It will present useful information on how citizens can use electricity more efficiently and thus save. -Energy efficient light bulbs save up to 90 percent of electricity. Keeping the temperature at 22 degrees, instead of 25 degrees, saves up to 10 percent of electricity. Taking a short shower saves water, electricity and money, said Government spokesperson Dushko Arsovski, citing examples with which, through educational activities, they plan to encourage electricity saving. According to some expert analyses, Arsovski stated, if these and other recommendations are followed, electricity can be saved up to 50 percent. Viktor Andonov, government's energy adviser, also sent a message about savings, noting that citizens, institutions and companies are very important in this process and that everyone should make a small change at home or at the workplace that will mean a lot for the energy system. The energy balance for electricity production from ESM shows that yesterday the needs of households and small consumers were met with domestic production of 10,786 megawatt hours and purchased electricity in the amount of 3,110 megawatt hours. Thermal power plants produced 7,834 megawatt hours, and renewable energy sources produced 2,952 megawatt hours of electricity. The government adopted a Savings Plan with specific guidelines for all state administration bodies, and the savings of the state institutions that started applying the plan from September 1, as announced, is 20 percent. dk/ba/
