Skopje, 17 July 2024 (MIA) - The Government discussed the Budget revision at yesterday's session but more details are to be released on Wednesday.
Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski told Sitel that the Budget situation is alarming and funds are lacking, noting that investigative authorities would have a lot of work in the coming period.
"They created a six-month budget as if they knew they would not form a government, so they tried to leave as many problems as possible to the new authorities, leaving a gap of billions of denars. They had legal obligations that must be fulfilled but failed to incorporate in the Budget. Nevertheless, investigative authorities will have a lot of work in the coming period," said Mickoski.
SDSM responded to the PM's claims and said Budget funds are available.
"VMRO-DPMNE has been seeking for an alibi for its incompetence since day one. This is an alibi for the poor policies it is planning such as ending the wage growth and the EUR 500 million loan from Budapest. SDSM worked for seven years of apocalyptic economic global crises but never complained, while ensuring funds for all needs," said SDSM.
Finance Minister Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska has said that funds for salaries and pensions would be secured while cutting on the unproductive costs.
Upon the Budget revision's endorsement by the Government, it will be forwarded to the Parliament for adoption by mid-August at the latest.
