Government delegation lays flowers at Karpalak memorial
Skopje, 8 August 2022 (MIA) – A Government delegation comprised of defense advisor Dragan Vasilevski and Ministry of Defense State Secretary Dragan Nikolikj laid flowers Monday at the memorial in area Karpalak at the Skopje-Tetovo motorway, paying their respects to the fallen defenders. On 8 August 2001, an Army convoy was ambushed near the village of Karpalak. Ten soldiers, all army reservists from Prilep, including Sasho Kitanoski, Nane Naumoski, Branko Sekuloski, Marko Despotoski, Erdovan Shabanoski, Ljube Grujoski, Darko Veljanoski, Vebi Rushitoski, Goran Minoski and Pece Sekuloski, were killed in the incident. The reservists were also remembered at their graves in Prilep, during a church service in the town, whereas the main observance took place at the Karpalak complex in the town center.
