Skopje, 6 October 2022 (MIA) – The Government decided Thursday to cancel the decision on restricting the export of wheat, flour, and sunflower seed, at the proposal of the Ministry of Economy. The decision fulfils the obligation arising from the agreement on food security mechanisms in the Western Balkans, signed at the Open Balkan Summit in Belgrade on September 2, aimed to eliminate bans for trading of basic agri-food products, the Government said in a press release. The decision to restrict wheat and flour exports was passed in July in order to protect national production and maintain supply at the domestic market, and for the purpose of subduing price hikes.
