Government: Average net wage up 11.3 percent in August
Skopje, 21 October 2022 (MIA) – The Government measures positively affect the average monthly net wage, said the executive on Friday following the publication of State Statistical Office data that shows the average net wage in August stood at Mden 31,871 (EUR 514), an increase by 11.3 percent compared to the same month in 2021 The constant rise in the average net wage is a result of the Government’s economic measures and policies aimed at increasing the average and minimum wage, which currently stands at Mden 18,000 (EUR 290), said the Government in a press release. The Government adds it will continue to introduce measures and build an environment which will ensure a higher rate of economic and income growth, in order to improve the living standards of the citizens, especially amid the current crisis. State Statistical Office data shows that the 11.3 percent rise of the average August net wage is caused by the increase of the average monthly net wage paid per employee in the sectors of manufacturing (16.2 percent), accommodation and food service activities (16.1 percent) and arts, entertainment and recreation (15.6 percent). ad/ik/
