Government adopts report on digitalization processes

Skopje, 18 April 2023 (MIA) - The Government at a session on Tuesday adopted a report on digitalization processes, proposed by the Ministry of Information Society and Administration.

The Government tasks state administration bodies and local self-government units to be involved in the implementation of digitalization processes. In order to establish a national digitalization road map, bodies of the state administration are instructed and local self-government units are recommended, within 30 days, to submit information to the Ministry of Information Society and Administration, with a description of IT infrastructure and software applications that they use, the Government said in a press release.

"Digitalization is one of the main goals in the program of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia, while the new digital agenda of the Ministry of Information Society and Administration is one of the main points in the new national development strategy. According to the Ministry's report, this process is promoting and improving the public administration, the education system, the health sector, the judicial system and other areas of governance," reads the press release.

The goal is, it adds, to provide swift services to citizens and contribute to the reduction of corruption in the country, by reducing the impact of the human factor on processes that can be automated.
