Government adopts materials regulating relations with European Commission
Skopje, 20 September 2022 (MIA) – The Government adopted Tuesday the law ratifying the Framework Agreement on financial partnership between the European Commission and North Macedonia related to the specific procedures for implementation of the Union’s financial assistance to the country according to the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance (IPA III). The framework agreement is the most important act that regulates the relations between the Government and the European Commission in implementing IPA III, arising from EU regulations that should be directly applied upon conclusion and entry of this agreement into force, the Government said in a press release. The IPA III regulations aim to support beneficiaries in adopting and implementing the political, institutional, legal, administrative, social and economic reforms required from them, for the purpose of their alignment with the Union values and gradual alignment with the regulations, standards, policies and practices of the Union (the Acquis), the ultimate goal being EU membership. The Government also adopted the report on the Sectoral Agreement between North Macedonia and the EC on establishing the provisions for management and implementation of the Union’s financial assistance for the country within the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance in Rural Development (IPARD III), reads the press release.
