Skopje, 9 October 2022 (MIA) - The government at Sunday's session adopted a new set of measures aimed at tackling the energy and price crisis, estimated at over EUR 350 million. With these funds, the total support intended to overcome the crisis easily in all spheres so far has reached EUR 750 million, Prime Minister Dimiter Kovachevski said. Protection of the standards for living and the liquidity of companies remains a priority, he vowed. "The key message being sent today is that no one will be forgotten and left behind to deal with the consequences from the crisis on their own. We will get through it together," Kovachevski told a news conference after the government session. The PM stressed that energy, heating and electricity, has to be provided and that targeted measures for the at-risk citizens must be taken. "Once again, we manage well the budget and are returning the money to the citizens, especially to the most vulnerable categories. We had in-depth consultations with the experts, employers, the chambers of commerce, pensioners, academics... We completed the measures to support the citizens and the companies. Starting today, we will be even more committed to overcoming the crisis. We're acting in decisive manner and taking measures to alleviate the crisis," said Kovachevski. PM Kovachevski during the press conference is joined by Deputy PM for Economic Affairs Fatmir Bytyqi, Economy Minister Kreshnik Bekteshi, Finance Minister Fatmir Besimi and Labor Minister Jovanka Trenchevska.
