Gostivar, 8 May 2024 (MIA) – Mayor of Gostivar and candidate of the "Worth It" coalition in the first round of the presidential elections Arben Taravari cast his vote on Wednesday, pointing out that the government will change after these elections.
In a statement to the media he urged people to vote in higher numbers.
"I urge all citizens to express their will in as higher number as possible, and we count the ballots at the end of the day. Let's see who the winner is. According to the only poll between the two election rounds, most likely the next government will be composed of VMRO and "Worth It"," Taravari said after voting.
In response to MIA's question on the outcome he expects, Taravari said this will be a historic victory for the Albanians in the country.
"This is a historic day for the Albanian bloc. I said it before, May 8 will be history for the Albanians and this will be written in the books. After 22 years of DUI regime, I believe DUI is in opposition as of today. And they are aware of it, they know it," Taravari pointed out.
He said that according to information he has, there's been disruption of the electoral process, noting that vote buying by hodjas and DUI officials has been detected yesterday.
"It is a public secret. They have always done it and will do it again, but there will be responsibility. They did not take responsibility before because they were in power. Now they will answer. As of tomorrow, there will be responsibility and I call on all people to enable the voting to be fair and as democratic as possible," Arben Taravari said.
