Skopje, 29 July 2023 (MIA) - Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani said Saturday it is good that a debate on the constitutional changes has begun in the Parliament and the focus has been placed on the content of the amendments.
"I am not seeing a reaction from the citizens or experts about the content of the constitutional amendments. If such a problem had existed, there would have been series of press conferences and statements by various experts and NGOs. The most important thing is to go back to the content of the amendments and see if there is something disputable there," FM Osmani told a press conference.
According to him, the required majority for the constitutional revision is short of about eight MPs.
On the opposition's demands, the FM said DUI is prepared to immediately exit the government if VMRO-DPMNE supports the constitutional amendments.
"We accepted all their demands. They wanted DUI to leave the government and our position is clear: the decision will be activated on the day VMRO-DPMNE votes in favor of the changes. We can even sign it today and it can enter into force on the day of the vote," said Osmani.
