Goce Delchev must not be misused to create conflicts and intolerances, whether at home or abroad, gov’t tells MIA
Skopje, 9 February 2022 (MIA) - In regard to the Goce Delchev declaration, filed by the opposition party VMRO-DPMNE to the parliament last week, the government told MIA that the parliament had already adopted a resolution establishing national positions in the ongoing talks with Bulgaria. Goce Delchev is non-negotiable and the government considers unnecessary to adopt such a declaration.
“It is of utmost importance that all political and social stakeholders to refrain from daily political scoring and take advantage of the life and work of the great Goce Delchev. We appeal to honor and celebrate Delchev responsibly and with dignity. The great Delchev must not be misused to create conflicts and intolerances, whether at home or abroad. We have an obligation to be careful, dedicated and dignified in public communications when it comes to Delchev because that is exactly what he deserves the most,” the government said.
It said that the invitation to the opposition to be involved in a constructive way in the processes that are of top interest for the future North Macedonia’s EU integration is open.
We believe that the right path to resolving open issues is through intensifying the dialogue of the working groups of the two countries, relaxing the relations and focusing on the development of relations in all spheres. The results, in a short time, are already visible, according to the government.
