Gjorchevska's father brought to Skopje Court as part of preliminary investigation

Skopje, 4 December 2023 (MIA) — The father of 14-year-old Vanja Gjorchevska, Aleksandar Gjorchevski, one of the suspects connected to her murder, was brought to the Skopje Criminal Court on Monday afternoon.

He was brought from the Centar Police Station, where he had been interrogated over the past 24 hours.

At the request of the Skopje Public Prosecutor's Office, it is expected that he will be given 48 hours of detention as the other three suspects who are already in custody.

The bodies of the two victims, 14-year-old Vanja Gjorchevska and 74-year-old Panche Zhezhovski, are being autopsied. DNA analysis results are expected on Tuesday, after which the four suspects are expected to be detained longer.

The fifth suspect, Ljupcho Palevski Palcho, who is suspected to be the organizer and perpetrator of the murders, is on the run.

The Ministry of Interior has not issued an international warrant yet because the preliminary investigation is still ongoing.

Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski told a press conference earlier on Monday that Palevski had initially left for Serbia and then to Bulgaria. mr/
