Skopje, 17 September 2022 (MIA) - Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in North Macedonia, Anke Holstein addressed event to celebrate 30 years of German-Macedonian cooperation, which is taking place in Skopje City Park on Saturday. “Thirty years of German-Macedonian cooperation, learning from each other, building bridges between our countries and people. Numerous projects are proof of this cooperation. The goal was and is for the country to move forward on its way to full Euro-Atlantic integration, to achieve sustainable development for citizens to better live in harmony with nature and environment,” Ambassador Holstein said opening the event. According to Ambassador Holstein, the projects were implemented by various German partners, including the embassy, in the close cooperation with partners in North Macedonia, to whom we sincerely thank for that. “Seven of the German partners are present today so you will have the opportunity to acquaint about their activities. The Goethe-Institut supports cultural exchange through music, film and art, and of course working with our difficult German language. The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) supports the international exchange of students and scholars. Delegation of German Industry and Commerce supports the economic activities of German companies in North Macedonia and Macedonian companies in Germany. Our political foundations Konrad Adenauer and Friedrich Ebert promote political education and democratic values,” Holstein said. KfW Development Bank, added the German ambassador, backs financial projects for sustainable development, primarily in the field of environment and energy. German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) supports, plans and finances various future-oriented projects. GIZ is implementing superschools programme in the region, which allows students to create a culture of mobility, from the region to meet, intercultural exchange, and reconciliation, she added. Event to celebrate the anniversary of "30 years of German-Macedonian cooperation" including cultural programme and entertaining activities is organized by the Embassy of Germany.
